Adélia Borges
She is journalist, curator specialized in design, and professor of Design History. She was the director of the Museu da Casa Brasileira [Brazilian House Museum] in São Paulo from 2003 to 2007. Her articles, catalogue texts, and books have been published in Portuguese, German, Korean, Spanish, French, English, Italian, and Japanese. Among the exhibitions under her curatorship, we could highlight “Novos Alquimistas” (“New Alchemists”), at the Instituto Itaú Cultural [Itaú Cultural Institute], in São Paulo, 1999; “Uma História do Sentar” (“A History of Sitting”), at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum, in Curitiba, 2002; “Kumuro – Indigenous Benches of the Amazon”, at the Carreau du Temple, in Paris, 2006; “Design Brasileiro Hoje: Fronteiras” (“Brazilian Design Today: Frontiers”), at the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo, in 2009; “Puras Misturas” (“Pure Blends”), at the Pavilhão das Culturas Brasileiras [Brazilian Cultural Pavilion], in São Paulo, 2010; and III Bienal Brasileira de Design [3rd Brazilian Design Biennial], in Curitiba, 2010.
