Lives and works in Rio de janeiro. A visual artist, he holds a doctorate in visual languages by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and in theory and history of photography by the EHESS [School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences], in Paris. His work focuses mainly on the relationships between photography and art, particularly pertaining contemporary photography and conceptualism. He is a professor of Theory of Image for the Art History Department of the School of Fine Arts at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
