Omar Thomaz Ribeiro
Omar Thomaz Ribeiro is anthropologist, historian, and now professor at Universidade Estadual de Campinas. He is researcher in the area of war and conflict anthropology: he realized in-field research in the south of Mozambique, Uganda and Haiti. His team, formed for the majority by supervised students, is carrying on research in different African countries (particularly in Mozambique and South Africa), in Haiti and in territories of Central and Eastern Europe (particularly Serbia, Bosnia and former German Democratic Republic). He is author, among others, of “Ecos do Atlântico Sul: Representações sobre o Terceiro Império Português” (“Echoes of South Atlantic Ocean: Representations about the Third Portuguese Empire”), Editora da UFRJ.
