Rachael Kiddey
Rachael Kiddey is a post-doctoral researcher at British Academy at the School of Archaeology, Oxford University. Her project, Migrant Materialities, analyses the role of material culture in contemporary forced displacement situations in Europe (2018-2021). Rachael received her PhD at the Archaeology Department of York University in 2014. This involved developing methodologies for working archaeologically with homeless people, documenting how tradition can function in socially useful and transformative ways. His monograph Homeless Heritage was published by Oxford University Press in 2017 and won the Society of Historical Archaeology’s James Deetz Book Award 2019. Rachael Kiddey is a Senior Common Room Member and College Advisor at St Antony’s College, Oxford and a member of the London Antique Society.
