Cameroonian writer Bertrand Teyou
Cameroonian writer Bertrand Teyou, author of ‘L’Antécode Biya’ and ‘La Belle de la République : Chantal Biya, de la rue au Palais’, who was sentenced in October 2010 to two years in prison and to pay FCFA 2.031.000 for ‘defamation’ of the name of Cameroonian president Paul Biya’s wife, and for ‘unauthorized association’ started a hunger strike on February 15, 2011 to protest ‘the lack of respect for his fundamental rights’. As of today, he is in the hospital of the Douala New Bell prison.
