The MOVART Gallery is excited to host our first artist residency. A project by women for women.

NZINGA Residency aims to be a platform that promotes the empowerment of women in African countries, that encourages cultural production by women and that contributes to the creation of new synergies and cooperation between Portuguese-speaking countries and to the strengthening of cultural relations between those. 

The artists are invited to explore different themes and concepts of production, crossing the boundaries of gender and identity. The programme aims to be a space for searching and building connections  through art.

The open call is aimed at emerging female artists from Angola and the PALOPs, lasts for two month and takes place in October  in Luanda, Angola.

We are pleased to be working with both ProCultura and the WUAMI – Centro de Artes, Pesquisa e Formação on this project.
